What You'll Do

Our Global Meetings & Events (M&E) team focuses on creating safe and inspiring environments that bring people together to enable deep connections, accelerate capability building, and create global impact. The group partners closely with senior leaders, functional and regional event teams, and individual meeting planners across the company to enhance overall event experience while creating efficiencies and scale and lowering risk for all meeting formats (in-person, virtual, & hybrid).

 

As the Meeting & Events Supplier Management Director, you will set the vision and lead the global strategy for supplier management within BCG’s Meetings & Events function. This high-impact leadership role combines strategic direction-setting with hands-on team leadership, operational oversight, and vendor partnership management.

This role oversees three key areas:

Contract execution and high-volume negotiation support for major meetings & eventsCategory strategy and sourcing partnerships across various categories incl. hotels and Destination Management Companies (DMCs).Customer engagement and stakeholder support, addressing service challenges and onboarding new supplier needs

You’ll lead this global team of 5–7 professionals and act as the executive owner of BCG’s supplier strategy, making decisions that balance operational efficiency, commercial value, and risk mitigation. You’ll partner closely with M&E senior directors and teams executing events, as well as Legal, Procurement, and Travel, to ensure our supplier model supports the scale and complexity of BCG’s global meeting portfolio.

 

You’ll also drive innovation and continuous improvement—identifying ways to work more efficiently and evolve the supplier model to match BCG’s ambitions. You will be expected to communicate and influence confidently at senior levels and use data and logic to frame decisions and drive alignment across a complex stakeholder landscape.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Oversee a high-volume sourcing service operated by an external sourcing agency and a global team of approximately 30, ensuring seamless collaboration, quality candidate pipelines, and timely delivery on hiring needs.Coach, mentor, and develop globally distributed team of 5-7, fostering a high-performance culture and succession pipeline within the supplier management function.Oversee end-to-end supplier strategy, with a focus on risk mitigation, supplier diversity, and Master Services Agreements (MSAs), ensuring alignment with firm-wide compliance, internal client needs and operational priorities.Act as a key decision-maker and influencer on supplier models, contracting approaches, digital solutions, and team structure by partnering with leaders and peers across Legal, Procurement and IT to ensure alignment with BCG’s strategic goalsSet the long-term vision and strategy for M&E supplier management, developing initiatives to optimize the value of spend while mitigating corporate risk to attain outstanding customer satisfactionDevelop and implement enterprise-level risk mitigation frameworks for supplier management, ensuring resilience against global supply chain disruptions Play the role of contract advocate for internal customers ensuring they understand the risks involved in contracting.Guide team members in building strong stakeholder engagement strategies, and equip them to influence internal teams to adopt preferred suppliersBuild and maintain strategic vendor relationships, overseeing performance metrics (SLA, CSAT, KPIs) and continuous improvementEngage regularly with senior stakeholders to align supplier strategy with BCG’s business, risk, and operational prioritiesProactively anticipate and mitigate supplier-related conflicts, serving as an escalation point and ensuring strategic alignment across internal and external stakeholders. Use data, metrics, and logic to identify trends, uncover root causes, and guide recommendations and decision-makingLead large-scale transformation initiatives to evolve BCG’s supplier model, ensuring integration with broader organizational objectives. Represent supplier management at the M&E leadership level, ensuring clear, confident, and influence-based communicationCollaborate with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Travel to ensure supplier operations are compliant and aligned with corporate standards

The Meeting & Events Supplier Management Director should be comfortable working across multiple functions within BCG to ensure appropriate financial, risk, and legal requirements are being met and be a strong strategic thought partner and subject matter expert, defining and implementing both continuous improvement and transformational change

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD a plus11+ years of experience ideally in hospitality related field or within the meeting & events supplier management space5-7 years in people managementExperience working in a global organizationProven ability to influence and communicate at senior executive levelsStrong negotiating skillsDemonstrated success leading change initiativesExcellent analytical, planning, and organizational skillsExperience working in complex, matrixed organizations with global stakeholdersWilling to travel approximately 10-20% of working time.

Who You'll Work With

The Meetings & Events team is part of BCG’s Enterprise Services function which is comprised of 9 additional service lines (BI&A Products and Services, Case Team Services, Data & Product Services, Enterprise Procurement & Payables, Executive Support Services, Global Finance and Operations Services, Global Real Estate, Global Travel, and Hub Management Services) as well as two End to End processes (Lead to cash and Source to Pay).

 

You can also expect to work closely with colleagues across IT, Legal, Finance and other BCG support functions as well as a global network of approved external suppliers. The M&E team supports internal and external-facing events across all BCG functions and regions.

 

You’ll represent supplier management in cross-functional projects and forums, ensuring alignment, visibility, and voice for the supplier management team.
