Meeting and Event Setup Technician

Job Summary

The Experience Services Meeting and Event Setup Technician handles the setup and breakdown of meeting and event spaces at the client site.   This role generally falls under the Facilities Management team, Janitorial Services or within Soft Services.   In cases where a more dedicated support is needed, the role/roles fall under Meeting and Events. This role is customer facing, so the technician must be able to exhibit good customer service and communication skills while providing a high touch hospitality focused service.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures that meeting and event spaces are maintained in a clean and efficient manner, well stocked and ready Handles set-up, breakdown, refreshing and resetting for all meeting and event spaces (tables, chairs, flipcharts, whiteboards etc)Assist with coordinating activities of onsite meeting and eventsOperational knowledge of all relevant equipment within the meeting and event spacesMaintain inventory, suggest repair, storage or replacement of equipmentRespond to all meeting and event set-up requests in a timely manner, ensuring KPI compliance and excellent customer serviceCollaborate with other service providers who support the meeting and event space (audio visual, catering, security, facilities, janitorial,  and equipment providers)Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved or exceededWork with clients at all levels of an organization, including C-suiteAssist the meeting and event coordinator/s with activities of onsite meetings and events, scheduling, catering set ups as well as janitorial supportFollow safety rules and safe working practicesPerforms all job responsibilities with initiative, integrity, and good judgementPerforms other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentExceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitalityMust have basic computer skills (Microsoft office suite, Outlook)The ability to learn and carry out basic operational skills for Audio Visual equipmentGood communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail, ability to complete work accurately and efficientlyMust be able stand/walk and lift up to 50 pounds and up to 75 pounds with assistanceAbility to work independently with little supervisionExcellent service and teamwork skills; shows respect when dealing with customers and team members
