A Day in the Life:Performs a wide variety of clinical laboratory analyses including assays that define complicated disorders of the cardiovascular, endocrine, hematological, hemostatic, thrombolytic, and renal systems. Evaluates individual and related laboratory data, recognizes patterns or trends that suggest significance of results.

As an AMedical Technologist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in advancing healthcare by performing and interpreting complex laboratory analyses. Your work will contribute to significant medical discoveries and improvements in patient care.
A day in the Life:Perform, review, and interpret complex and routine laboratory analyses using manual, automated, and microscopic methods.Evaluate laboratory data, recognize patterns or trends, and determine the clinical significance of results.Author and modify standard operating procedures (SOPs) and mentor newer employees.Keys to Success:Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to work collaboratively with non-laboratory departments.Strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards.EducationBachelor's degree in a science-related field required.Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred.The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferredExperienceOver 0-1 years of experience as a scientist in a clinical laboratory.In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered enough for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentThis role requires regular interaction with laboratory equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must be able to perform tasks that may include standing for extended periods and handling biohazardous materials.
