Job Title: Medical Technologist
Job Description

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for the preparation, labeling, preservation, and processing of biological specimens. You will perform moderate to high complexity tests according to established protocols and assist in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. This role also involves preparation and storage of specimens, reagents, and culture media, as well as maintaining and monitoring turnaround times for all department assays. Adherence to documentation and record-keeping standards and following the laboratory's Quality Management System are crucial. You will collaborate with other team members and leadership, assist in laboratory maintenance activities, and perform other duties as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare, label, preserve, and process biological specimens.Perform moderate to high complexity tests according to established protocols.Assist in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.Prepare and store specimens, reagents, and culture media.Assist in the performance of quality control procedures.Maintain and monitor turnaround times for all department assays.Adhere to documentation and record-keeping standards.Follow the laboratory's Quality Management System.Collaborate with other team members and leadership.Assist with laboratory maintenance activities, including inventory management, biohazardous waste disposal, sterilization of glassware, and maintaining a neat and organized work area.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsActive license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.At least 2 years of experience in a CLIA laboratory.Knowledge of Microbiology techniques is preferred.Patient-first, mission-oriented mindset.Experience in Hematology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory, Microbiology, Blood Bank, PCR, and Pipetting.ASCP certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Biological Science is a plus.Work Environment

The position is based in a medical/diagnostic laboratory with potential exposure to chemicals, biological substances, sharps, and scientific instruments. The lab follows OSHA standards and maintains robust safety and training programs. The role requires extensive use of a computer and may involve extended periods of sitting and/or standing, repetitive motions like pipetting, and visual color discrimination. The work schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, 7:30 PM - 4/6:00 AM.
