Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.
Job responsibilities:
1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers
in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
2. Recognizes the normal signs (growth and development of aging) of the patient population indicated above and
understands the requirements of assessment, treatment, and care of the specific age group(s).
3. Initiates and maintains the hygiene/ cleanliness of the patients, the patient's environment, and the unit environment.
4. Understands and recognizes appropriate storage and safety of medications (such as large volume IV's, alcohol, saline,
medications in prepackaged kits).
5. Using Service Excellence Standards conducts Hourly Rounds.
6. Promotes and fosters an environment of comfort and safety for patients and visitors.
7. Performs or assists with performing nutritional/ hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, H20 or snacks).
8. Identifies and communicates appropriate patient data to members of the interdisciplinary team.
9. Collects and records patient related data through the performance of direct care tasks.
10. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in Evidence Based tasks.
11. Utilizes appropriate health and safety to protect both the patient and staff.
12. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion and respect for all patients, families and visitors.
13. Performs general transportation and courier duties as directed.
14. Participates proactively in problem solving initiatives.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education
