MDS team supplies various healthcare products for injection, infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia, and closed medication management.
**About the role**
The Medical Manager is a pivotal role within the BD MDS BNLX organization, responsible for developing and coordinating medical workstreams in collaboration with the BNLX business team. This position involves managing a team of clinical consultants in Belgium and The Netherlands, ensuring the successful implementation of these workstreams.
These workstreams include, but are not limited to: HCP consulting and clinical support, education and training, KOL and society engagement, evidence generation and dissemination, scientific exchange and insight, medical services, and business support. The successful candidate will handle all medical and clinical aspects of these workstreams, ensuring compliance with local and corporate medical standards and expectations.
The Medical Manager is a member of both the BD MDS BNLX Leadership Team and the EMEA Medical Affairs leadership team.
**Main responsibilities will include:**
Management of the Benelux BD MDS Medical Team:
+ Cultivate a high morale and motivated Medical Team spirit, ensuring collaboration with the rest of the BD BNLX organization.
+ Support the Medical Team with account segmentation and prioritization of clinical activities in line with the MDS business unit.
+ Develop innovative ways to support customers and clinicians in an evolving healthcare environment (e.g., digital, distance learning).
+ Select and hire associates for the Medical Team, mentor team members through field visits and one-on-one interactions, conduct performance reviews, and build development and succession plans.
Defining and Completing the Medical Affairs Strategy for BD Benelux:
+ HCP Consulting and Clinical Support: Coordinate the BNLX MA team’s activities to provide planned and ad-hoc medical and clinical support to HCPs in alignment with business strategies. Improve existing and develop new education and training materials to support the region’s business strategy.
+ KOL and Society Engagement: Develop a KOL and scientific society strategy for the region, supporting advocacy and engagement initiatives. This includes identifying and developing KOLs, key scientific societies, and guidelines, in collaboration with marketing, market access and public policy. Establish and maintain credible peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and societies, coordinating advisory boards, investigator meetings, educational symposia, and sponsored promotional programs.
+ Scientific Exchange and Insight: Handle responses to medical inquiries and off-label requests, supported by the EMEA HQ Medical Affairs team and the Global Medical Information team. Capture medical insights through engagement with KOLs, scientific societies, and analysis of the latest published literature.
+ Evidence Generation and Dissemination: As a member of the cluster evidence generation and dissemination council, present and approve BNLX evidence opportunities. Use the BNLX Medical team to identify evidence opportunities and support the EMEA Medical Affairs team in implementing global, regional, and local evidence initiatives.
+ Manages the compliant execution and delivery of BD MDS Medical Services practice audits and other associated solutions. Collaborate with EMEA Medical Services Manager in the development of new medical solution projects.
+ Business Support: Lead the team to support business projects by providing expertise and insights, and conduct the medical review of local language promotional materials.
**About you**
+ Certified as an HCP (Nurse or Physician) and/or holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific Disciplines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Biotechnology).
+ Confirmed experience in an acute healthcare environment, with other relevant experiences considered.
+ Previous professional experience in medical/clinical roles within Pharma and/or Medical Companies.
+ Knowledge of the healthcare system and medical device industry, including relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards for interactions with HCPs, payers, and industry representatives.
+ Understanding of GCP and European clinical trial requirements and medical device regulations.
+ Proficient in English and either French or Dutch/Flemish.
+ Clinical expertise in Vascular Access Management, Infection Prevention, or Medical Oncology, with a willingness to share knowledge compellingly.
+ Strong project management skills.
