Medical Logistics Specialist
Overview ***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP*** Under the supervision of the Community Services Director, the Medical Logistics Specialist provides logistical support and managing the overall logistic processes in support of our customers mission objectives; leveraging existing networks; anticipating mission needs and operational requirements. The utilization of systems such as GCSS-Army, DMLSS, DCAM and TEWLS are crucial to ensure mission success, request items, distribute items and ensure maintenance is scheduled, performed and recorded for each item of TSC equipment using DD Form 314, Preventive Maintenance Schedules and Records Card or other automated system, IAW AR 25-1, AR 350-38, and DA Pam 738-750. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Provides the COR with a monthly report, or when requested, that tracks on stock items, order status, and provide the COR, consumable supplies, and repair parts for the medical equipment at the USAG-KA Provides the COR a weekly report that tracks medical equipment accountability in GCSS-A and the Property Book Office, standing orders submitted, pending Coordinate, schedule, inform and forecast any need to ship the medical equipment for replacement, maintenance or conducts annual 100% inventory of all products, durable and non-expendable supplies, equipment and property IAW AR 735-5 and the terms of the Assist with material identification, acquisition, shipment, receipt, and packaging Identifies and resolves material issues to avoid any delays in the project’s completion Act as the material control point and performs audits of material Responsible for the receipt and validation of customer Sales Orders and for managing unfilled orders Ensures the exception processing associated with allocating inventory to orders, scheduling and releasing the line item(s) to customers, and processing confirmations or denials Expedites the resolution of customer supply problems with emphasis on medical maintenance and process if new Ensures forecasts/demand plans developed for subsistence of CLVIII Receives/evaluates quantitative/qualitative feedback Responsible for thorough understanding of Government and commercial approaches to all disciplines involved in program support, including supply, transportation, customs, automation, storage, and inspection, contracting, finance, and requires understanding of unique procedures and support to USAG-KA and subordinate elements, as well as the normal support procedures Monitor and enhance customer relationships by participating in customer outreach initiatives to assess customer Performs other duties as assigned by the COR and Medical Services Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification within 30 days after hire from the online source training: https://jkodirect.jten.mil/Atlas2/page/login/Login.jsf. Employee must have a High School Diploma or GED. Coursework in medical logistics. Work experience may substitute education, on a year for year basis. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Child Care National Agency Check (CNACI) clearance requiring US Citizenship or Permanent Residency. A valid drivers license and the ability to obtain an on post drivers license. Must be able to maintain USG Network access & Smart card privilege(s). Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in Logistics and warehousing. Related Medical Logistics in Supply arena. One-year (1) Year Experience working with MAXIMO, DMLSS and GCSS-Army is a Plus. Must have two (2) years progressive experience, which demonstrates the ability to analyze problems, to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. Must be familiar with Privacy Act of 1974 and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Skills: Employee must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management. They must be able to work independently. Position requires basic planning, organizing, and problem solving skills. Require excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Requires analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data. They must be knowledgeable in MS Office software application such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Working Conditions: Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
