Site Name: Japan - Tokyo - Akasaka Posted Date: Jan 9 2025 The job holder has responsibility for overall medical strategy of key assets and achievement of the tactical objectives as a critical role to the overall success of the assets and in ensuring patients benefit from GSK’s scientific advancements as core member of Global Medical Team (GMT) and the overall Japan Medical matrix team. The position will lead directly and indirectly, a Japan Matrix Team (MA, MSL, development and Japan Value Evidence Outcome (VEO) which is responsible for developing and executing multiple Japan medical Affairs strategic and tactical plans. In addition, the position must ensure Japan needs for medical and health outcomes evidence generation are represented and incorporated into the global integrated evidence plans and recommend scientifically appropriate measures within health outcomes research over the lifecycle of the medicine to optimize its product value. Key responsibilities Accountable for Japan medical asset strategy and execution for all medical asset activities in Japan driving effective alignment and synergy across related indications’ medical plans and activities where applicable Accountable for developing Japan medical strategy and perspective, ensuring medical strategy and plans are aligned with commercial asset strategy where appropriate Lead the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team to tailor/ adapt global asset strategy for Japan specific customer needs and environment. Provide strategic oversight of Japan Business Plans aligned to strategy Represent Japan medical affairs perspective at GMT, bringing a strong Japan view on medical strategy and Japan customer needs as input to global strategy and is responsible for overall success from enterprise thinking. Working with Japan project leader, Japan Value Evidence Lead (VEL) and Therapeutic Area (TA) medical and development director, ensures strategic alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with the overall therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies Basic Qualification Skill/ Knowledge/ Education Required Scientific degree or equivalent experience in Life sciences Pharmaceutical, Medical or equivalent Preferred Level of Education Master of Science or equivalent. MD, PhD, PharmD in Life sciences, Pharmaceutical, Medical or equivalent Experience 5 + years Pharmaceutical Industry experience Medical Affairs experience, preferable on an Asset/Brand team with launch experience is preferred Education/certification/Language Bachelor degree Preferred Qualification Skill Extensive academic preparation, professional knowledge and expertise to modify/develop policies Experience Relevant experience in the therapeutic area (Vaccines) Education/certification/Language Master of science or above (e.g. PhD, MD) Why GSK?
