Responsibilities Maintain and organize all forms and supplies as requiredPrepare necessary reagents, assemble and set up equipment required for a job functionOperate and maintain laboratory equipment of varying complexity requiring a moderate degree of operational skillAbility to read and understand a study protocolPerform a wide variety of routine and high complexity laboratory procedures requiring advanced knowledge and/or experience in the area of assignmentAbility to recognize instrument malfunction and initiate troubleshooting procedures with minimal direction from the team leaderPerform procedures and interpret resultsEvaluate instruments performance and assist in operational qualification of new equipment and/or reagentsMaintain written records of tests and proceduresConduct literature searchesPerform functions as assigned by managementCross training in analytical chemistry department, i.e. capsule prep, etc. as neededParticipate in in-house training programs for the technical staffMaintain confidential informationInteract with the community and employeesSupport and participate in other company initiatives as directed by managementPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications A.S./A.A. or B.S./B.A. degree in a science field plus the completion of MLT or MLS certification from American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent. Minimum 1-5 years as a generalist in a clinical laboratory; preclinical testing experience preferred.Demonstrate ability to perform varied technical assignments with limited supervisionComplete knowledge of calculations necessary for making laboratory preparationsSkill in handling a variety of laboratory tools and instrumentsAbility to recognize abnormal results, investigate cause (if necessary) and report findings to the lab managerAbility to conduct literature searches of limited depthDemonstrate self-starting ability to reliability in completing assignments

 

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
