Description A well-established healthcare organization in Carlsbad, CA, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their team! Key Responsibilities: + Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers, ensuring compliance with regulations. + Verify the accuracy of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, ensuring that they're properly applied to services rendered. + Correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims in a timely manner, reducing billing delays. + Work closely with the insurance companies to process claims and ensure timely reimbursements. + Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to treatment or service. + Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and generate billing statements. + Prepare reports on outstanding claims and account balances, identifying discrepancies for resolution. + Collaborate with the accounting department to track and manage unpaid accounts. Requirements + High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) preferred. + 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting required. + Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic or Cerner). + Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes and claims processing systems. + Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients and insurance companies.
