Assists physician during physical exams and procedures.Ensures that charts for outside physicians are prepared for that day with appropriate forms and documentation.Assists staff with scheduling appointments, requesting medical information, test results, photocopying, filing and other tasks as assigned.Assists with obtaining authorizations or referrals needed. Maintains patient charts and ensures information is filed/scanned accurately.Functions as a collaborative team member; demonstrated commitment to group goals and teamwork.Takes vitals on all patients to include height, weight, blood pressure and temperature.Completes patient history, medication documentation, and other orders as instructed by the provider.May perform point of care testing, phlebotomy and specimen collection, assists the providers with basic routine tests, injections and procedures (ECGs, Blood Glucose, etc.), as needed.Maintains clinical equipment and notifies management of issues or concerns.Operates equipment in a safe and competent manner.Enters other pertinent patient data into EMR as requested by the provider.Accurately documents point of care results to ensure charges are sent by the close of business.Works within scope and with providers to answer patient phone questions and complete refill encounters with appropriate documentation in the chart or EMR.Answers phones, screens calls, and communicates messages accurately and in a timely manner.Restocks and prepares exam rooms for the next day according to par levels. Notifies staff member responsible for ordering supplies when appropriate.Travel between sites may be required based on coverage needs.Performs other duties as assigned.Company Description

QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent required.Medical Assistant Certification, preferred.In leu of Medical Assistant Certification, 1 year of clinical experience would be required.
