Responsibilities Key position for assisting physician with examination and care of patients on both campuses. Works collaboratively with physician to facilitate patient care and physician efficiency. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum Experience: 2 years medical assistant experience or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Doctor’s office or other practice experience preferred. Required Certification/Licenses: None. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Physicial Demands: Work requires considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion with some and/or continuous standing or walking. Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Requires 80% sitting and 20% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required. Manual Dexterity: Work requires moderate speed and accuracy, excellent keyboarding skills for scheduling and electronic medical records. Working Conditions: Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed to unpleasant patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations and occasionally to irregular work hours.
