Schedule: Full Time
Shift : TBD – hours not defined yet – Would say safest to follow the OB clinic schedule – M/Tu/Th 7-7, W 8-5, Fri 8-12 (rotating 1-5 with all the staff as they rotate the afternoon schedule).
Location: 2302 Lone Star Rd., Ste 200, Mansfield, TX 76063; Travel should be listed as <=25% - not required to travel in this role, sometimes “float” to other office as needed in an urgent situation/etc.
The role you’ll contribute:
A non-exempt position responsible for performing all patient data collection, charge entry, communication with patients, venders, and public also to assist in the delivery of patient care by obtaining medical information, assisting in basic room preparation, assisting with in office procedures and maintaining patient, physician, and clinic communication. This position requires the Certified Medical Assistant to be trained and perform both front office and clinical office responsibilities.

Greets patients and visitors:
With a friendly tone and smile
Introduces one’s self
Instruct patient to sign in if applicable
Instruct patients to complete registration packet, verifies, and updates patient information.
Obtains and scans copies of I.D. cards, insurance cards etc.
Verifies insurance, collects co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance.
Next day preparation
Answers phones and schedules appointments, uses proper phone etiquette at all times, creates patient case as needed.
Checks voicemail throughout the day, checks answering service at the start of the day and after lunch.
Checks Adventhealth email, works Athena inboxes, works and reassigns tasks as necessary, checks third party vendors for appointments and referrals, work tickler file per office protocol.
Completes check out process, daily close, deposits and ensures daily delivery of deposits.
Maintains office supply inventory and orders supplies per purchasing protocol.
Ensures front lobby is clean and stocked throughout the day.
Checks mail and distributes or processes appropriately
Maintains medical records and processes in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Responsible for assisting in delivering patient care and performs back office duties as per office protocol, to include but not limited to:
Obtaining and recording of vital signs
Collects and documents pertinent medical, surgical, and family histories
Medication reconciliation
Quality tab and measures
Spiritual Wholeness Questions
Fall Risk Assessment
Depression
Screening
Preparation and completion of ACO paperwork and submission
Ensures patient and exam room is ready for physician.
Performs all Point of Care testing ordered by physician and ensures documentation and billing completion.
Assists in office surgery and procedures.
Stocks exam rooms and ensures exam room cleanliness throughout the day.
Maintains inventory and orders supplies following purchasing protocols.
Maintains samples per policy #707.
Adhere to quality policy and procedures:
OSHA
SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Maintains all appropriate logs
Maintains clinic per quality tracer
Universal Precautions
Cleans and prepares instruments.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications:
Completion of and education program for preparing medical assistants
High school diploma or GED.
Current Medical Assistant certification
BLS within first 30 days of employment
Preferred qualifications:
