Medical Assistant Instructor
This 10-week temporary position is designed for an organized individual who is passionate about teaching and has a strong background in the medical assistant field. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational content to students, ensuring that they receive the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their careers. The role requires teaching three days a week, with additional hours available for class prep and student monitoring. The position is set to start at the end of June and the instructor will have the opportunity to work alongside the Professional Development team for training. In this role, the instructor will assist in preparing and delivering instructional materials, provide support to students during skills demonstrations, and collaborate with the preceptors to enhance the overall learning experience. The instructor will also be involved in curriculum development, ensuring that the content is relevant and up-to-date with industry standards. Responsibilities + The instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments and class activities, clear documentation of student progress, and collaboration with SCMG leaders and preceptors. + This includes teaching basic anatomy and medical terminology, in addition to essential skills such as taking vital signs, obtaining patient history and medication reconciliation, assisting providers with exams and procedures, performing EKGs, and updating electronic medical records. + Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner + Plan, prioritize, and organize class assignments to meet established goals and deadlines + Receive and respond to ongoing training development and feedback + Mentor and guide students throughout the program in the classroom and clinical setting. + Perform other duties as assigned Requirements + High School Diploma + Strong background in medical assisting + Experience in teaching or instructional roles, 2 years or more strongly preferred + Proficiency in learning technology to enhance teaching methods + BLS Certification + Strong communication and interpersonal skills;ls to effectively engage with students and staff + Ability to use common software programs (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, electronic medical records/Meditech Expanse, etc Salary: $36.00 per hour
