Actalent is hiring a Medical Assistant Floater! Job Description The Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the Medical Assistant role or dedicated lab roles. Responsibilities + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision. + Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management, examination, and treatment of patients. + Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. + Float between various office locations to support in the Medical Assistant or lab roles as required. + Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. + Assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. Essential Skills + Medical assisting + Phlebotomy + Taking vitals (manual vitals preferred) + Knowledge of basic medical terminology + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices + Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly + Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma required + 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting + Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience + Bilingual (English-Spanish) required + Phlebotomy experience required + Active BLS certification required + Active driver's license required + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr.
