Job Title: Medical Assistant Floater Position - Central Orlando Region
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant Floater for the Central Orlando region. The main locations for this role include, but are not limited to, home office, Rio Pinar, Red Bug, and Apopka. This position requires travel to these locations and additional areas in the greater Orlando region based on coverage needs.

ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment.Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Report laboratory results to a healthcare clinician and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values, documenting critical reports.Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.Perform and document patient intake vitals including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings.Interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation, updating medical records to include chief complaint, current medications, allergies, and medical histories.Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, hospital discharge records, and diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review and treatment follow-up.Essential SkillsMedical assistingBLS certificationPatient carePhlebotomyMA Diploma / Certification or a minimum of 3 years MA experienceActive and valid driver's licenseExperience with EMR systemsKnowledge of medical terminologyAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to perform laboratory testing proceduresCapability to handle critical or out-of-range lab valuesProficiency in specimen preparation for lab send-outsSkill in documenting quality control and instrument maintenanceExperience in conducting patient interviews and updating medical recordsWork Environment

This is a patient-facing role that involves working indoors, operating computers, and exposure to certain hazards. The job requires reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs., and activities such as sitting, walking, squatting, kneeling, or bending. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm, with up to two Saturdays per month from 8am to 12pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33196.00 - $46883.00/yr.
