Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:       

Helps patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the offices and clinics of health care providers, such as, physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

Uses computer applications Answers telephones Greets patients Updates and files patient medical records Codes and fills out insurance forms Schedules appointments Arranges for hospital admissions and laboratory services Handles correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping Performs all administrative duties in a clinic or office

May perform below clinical duties-under the responsibility and direct supervision of licensed person and after documented training and proof of competency

Takes medical histories Administers basic first aid Explains treatment procedures to patients Prepares patients for examination Takes vital signs Assists the physician during exams Collects and prepares laboratory specimens Performs basic laboratory tests Instructs patients about medication and special diets Prepares and administers medications non- invasive medication as directed by a physician and supervised by a licensed person. Operates office medical  equipment Removes sutures and changing dressings Participates in periods of emergency Performs specified and approved aseptic techniques
