Position Summary:
Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient triage, registration, and administrative services. Assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. Must have certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program (Associate Degree/ Ladder Curriculum).
B. Training and Experience:
Current BLS certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities desirable but not mandatory.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
B. Potential exposure to hazardous substances, cytoxic agents and disease.
C. May have varied work hours.
D. Heavy lifting; i.e., 1-1 or assisted patient lifting or lifting certain other objects on a daily basis.
E. Sustained long periods of standing and walking.
