GENERAL SUMMARY

The Media Intern will work with the Community Health Coordinator to learn, participate, and engage in many functions of the health communications efforts by the Viejas Tribe. The Media Intern is responsible for performing a variety of general clerical duties and promotion of health messaging on digital and print media sources. The duties include but are not limited to assisting with office support, research, content creation, and social media insight analysis.

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

Assists the Community Health Coordinator with incorporating photo and video content into public health communications materials, such as social media sites and print media Assists the Community Health Coordinator with creating a social media strategy Assists the Community Health Coordinator and Project Coordinator with creating monthly newsletter Gains knowledge of cultural and health resources, programs, and issues Researches health issues that may impact Tribal and community members Researches public health messaging strategies Stays up to date with current design and visual communication trends to bring fresh ideas to projects Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines Performs other duties as assigned.
