Mechanical Technician (Process Specialist)

We are seeking Process Specialists for our Macon diaper location. This role is primarily responsible for utilizing materials and manpower to efficiently produce a quality product during the manufacturing process.

Primary responsibilities include:

Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times

Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines

Updates line logbooks on machine operation and troubleshooting and sends shift updates outlining machine performance for the shift

Attends morning and evening shift change meetings to ensure effective handoff between shifts, and presents major items from the shift and ongoing issues

Maintains quality standards for the product being produced, supporting and leading proactive quality initiatives such as the Shift Process Cleaning documentation

Keeps the machine and surrounding areas clean at all times

Troubleshoots problems and performs adjustments to the machine

Properly trains machine operators, new line leaders, and other employees as required, and assists them in completing their Pay for Skills requirements

Inspects product from each line every shift to ensure high quality and performs additional quality checks as required

Utilizes Quality Window to review quality results and proactively address any outlying issues

Throughout the shift, proactively monitors all machine performance metrics versus objective and works with the machine team to resolve outstanding issues

Examines defects and scrap causes and takes appropriate corrective action when needed

Assists maintenance team and shift supervisor as needed

Properly completes all necessary paperwork including Work Orders and Work Requests

Manages lines through team approach principals and developing effective, self- sustaining work teams

Fill in as Platform Team Process Specialist, as needed

Requirements for the position include:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

1-2 years of trade school or college and three years of manufacturing experience (preferred)

Experience troubleshooting high speed manufacturing equipment and monitoring machine performance

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate orally and in writing

Ability to work in and manage a team-oriented environment

Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

For internal applicants: Completion of Tech III Pay for Skills criteria in Production; advanced knowledge of technical processes, materials, and procedures; and completion of all required training and assessments
