Mechanical Technician
Job Title: Mechanical (Automotive/Vehicle) Technician

Job Description

Actalent is looking to hire a number of skilled Mechanical Technicians to join our full time services team at a local client site, responsible for maintaining a fleet of pre-production/prototype vehicles. These individuals will be responsible for the installation and removal of vehicle hardware according to engineer specifications, and the associated documentation. The majority of focus will be on general vehicle systems such as axels, brakes, air and cooling systems, body/bumpers, etc.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain, repair, install and uninstall a variety of mechanical vehicle systems - chassis, axel, body, brakes, non-powertrain systemsUse a variety of shop and hand tools typically utilized in a vehicle shopTorqueing vehiclesHandle appropriate documentation for tracking of vehicle jobsMay support building and assembly of wire harnesses, cabling, etc. General shop support of vehicle engineersEssential Skills/QualificationsExperience with automotive systems, particularly mechanical-focused, but some electrical potentiallyProficiency in data logging and troubleshootingAbility to install and remove hardwareExperience building and assembling wiring harnessesMust have 2+ years of professional automotive technician experience, ideally working on heavy duty trucks; other similar such as buses, military vehicles, tractors, or other heavy diesel equipment may suffice5+ years professional automotive technician experience preferredAS degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and/or military vehicle training would be beneficialWork Environment

You will be supporting a fleet of prototype heavy-duty trucks, focusing on a variety of vehicle systems. These prototype vehicles operate around Oregon 24-7 and come to the facility twice a day for hardware installation and removal. The work environment includes corporate facilities and a clean vehicle shop with multiple bays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
