Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a critical program at the Navy Research Lab. The role involves supporting a secret program focused on communications systems in vehicles. This is a collaborative environment where flexibility is key. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety in their daily tasks and is open to taking on new challenges.

ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanisms using Solidworks and NX, followed by testing and evaluation.Utilize machinery, including CNC, for prototyping.Apply expertise to determine whether 3D designed or forged components are more suitable for requirements and provide insights into design needs.Breakdown, repair, test, and evaluate components.Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches for building tasks.Collaborate with team members to identify tasks necessary to complete the mission.Maintain flexibility and adapt to new tasks as they arise.Essential SkillsProficiency in Solidworks and NX design software.Experience in CNC machining and prototyping.Ability to use and understand hand tools.5+ years of experience as a technician.Active secret clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsWelding engineering experience.Familiarity with assembling electromechanical components by hand.Work Environment

The position is based on-site at the Navy Research Lab, working closely with a small team. The standard work hours are from 6 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a highly collaborative R&D role where teamwork and communication are essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $52.88/hr.
