PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide multi-skilled maintenance and electrical support, focusing on customer service, quality, cost, and productivity in a TPM and CI environment.Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.Continuously develop and enhance maintenance skills and abilities through hands-on experience and training.Demonstrate respectful workplace behavior, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Engage in ongoing job-related education to stay current with industry standards and best practices.Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and optimize processes.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:Gear and Gearbox Expertise: Inspect gears and gear units for lubrication problems and bearing failure, understand the components and characteristics of gearbox setups, and perform gearbox overhauls.Shaft Alignment Proficiency: Understand types of shaft misalignment, conditions affecting alignment, and methods used for shaft alignment including reverse dial, laser, and rim and face techniques.Mechanical Seal Maintenance: Remove mechanical seals from pumps, examine damaged seals, and install various types of mechanical seals.Bearing Knowledge: Understand types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings.Pump and Compressor Maintenance: Understand the parts, function, maintenance, and troubleshooting of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as various types of pumps.Machining Skills: Operate manual mill, lathe, and surface grinder to produce quality parts.Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot, disassemble, and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic valves.Preventative Maintenance: Test and perform preventative maintenance on various systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdownsElectrical Safety and Maintenance: Understand the hazards of working on electrical components and basic electrical circuits, ensuring all safety requirements are metAdvanced Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues of basic complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems such as PLCs, drives, servos, HMIs, and CNC machinesMulti-skilled technician satisfied by demonstrated technical expertise in maintenance functions2 year Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent past work experienceStrong customer focus Basic PC skills (MS Windows)Continued technical training required each yearBasic project management skills(Elec) Working towards a Class A Journeyman license if in the electrical program
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY: Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move / manipulate heavy componentsOccasionally lift /carry objects up to 100 poundsOccasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balanceRequires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating. (includes right and left hands)Outside work requiredWorking with various chemicalsHigh work from ladders and platformsWorking in confined space conditionsWearing the proper PPEHandling hazardous waste wearing the appropriate PPEWorking near energized electric circuitsWorking near/on hot equipment/materials
