We are assisting a leading main building contractor operating both in public and private sectors including data centre, commercial, fit-out, substations, biopharma, industrial warehousing, conservation, retail, residential, healthcare, and education projects. Due to continued growth, the company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Lead. As Mechanical Lead you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems bringing expertise in HVAC, piping, and building services, with a strong focus on high-performance design, energy efficiency, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
Reporting to MEP Construction Manager you will lead the design, development, and review of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and utility services.
Collaborate with contract managers, project managers, and other engineering leads to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly within project scopes.
Oversee quality assurance and control for mechanical designs and installations, from concept through construction, commissioning, and client handover.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, health and safety, and industry best practices.
Participate in project meetings, planning, budget allocation, and resource management to achieve project milestones efficiently.
Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and results.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, communicating technical information and project progress effectively.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Building Services or strong trade background.
3+ years' experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on Data Centre projects.
Strong proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
