Airswift is currently recruiting for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Handling Engineer to join our team in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the project, overseeing the handling philosophy and the definition of equipment. You will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining mechanical handling systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the project.
Key Responsibilities and Main Tasks: Handling Philosophy Development: Develop and refine the handling philosophy for the Kaminho project, outlining the approach and methodology for material handling activities throughout the project lifecycle. Equipment Definition: Define the specific handling equipment required for the project, including pedestal cranes, jib cranes, and other handling equipment, based on project requirements and operational needs. Material Requisition: Prepare material requisitions for the procurement of handling equipment and related components, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE): Perform technical bid evaluations for handling equipment vendors, assessing proposals based on technical specifications, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. Vendor Follow-Up: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers throughout the procurement process, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality handling equipment that meets project requirements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of handling equipment specifications, procurement activities, and vendor interactions. Generate reports and documentation as required to support project planning and execution. Required Experience and Qualifications: Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven experience in mechanical engineering roles, with a focus on handling equipment in the oil and gas or related industries. Strong knowledge and understanding of pedestal cranes, jib cranes, and other handling equipment commonly used in industrial settings. Experience in handling philosophy development, equipment definition, material requisitioning, TBE, and vendor follow-up processes. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to material handling and equipment procurement. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating with project managers, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
