UGL heavy maintenance facility based in Bassendean Perth, are seeking applications for a Mechanical Fitter to complete overhaul activities on Diesel Electric Locomotive Engines and associated components.

This position will be a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm

UGL is open to applicants-based interstate and looking for relocation to Bassendean, WA, relocation assistance maybe on offer to successful candidates not local to the area.

About the role

Disassembly, inspection, qualification and assembly of GE 7FDL heavy diesel enginesOverhaul of major engine components e.g. Pumps, Turbochargers and Power AssembliesEnsure collaborative involvement in Lean practicesA strong commitment to maintaining a safety environmentEngagement and commitment to UGL OneHSE cultureExtensive in-house training provided

About You

Relevant mechanical qualification e.g. Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter.Heavy diesel engine maintenance or component overhaul experienceHigh level of mechanical aptitudeDesirable to have experience with diesel electric locomotive enginesStrong communication skills. Both oral and writtenA valid driver’s license
