Your Opportunity

We are actively seeking for a Junior Mechanical Technologist to join our growing team in Fredericton, NB. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities Prepare contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details and sketches from conceptual design through to construction. Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in 2D and 3D software, such as AutoCAD, Plant3D and Navisworks. Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams. Help draft drawings and graphic work to be reviewed by a senior member of the team. Assist with field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings. Communicate with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards. Your Capabilities and Credentials Basic understanding of Mechanical drafting and design. Understands basics of enhanced 3D Software and knowledge of CAD Standards. Basic knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, and Adobe Acrobat. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to work under and meet tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments. Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team. Understand and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines. Comply with Stantec's EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the field. Strong desire to learn and work in a team environment. Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from Senior Engineers / Designers. Education and Experience Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous co-op/Internship experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
