The successful candidate will join the Engineering, Pressure Systems team to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Pressure Systems Recertification supervisor. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.
Responsibilities
Pressure Systems technicians identify and document system components, field verify configuration of existing drawings, develop isometric sketch and weld drawings to reflect changes in a system as well as support the Pressure Systems Recertification engineer as part of the recertification process. Perform routine inspections (Nondestructive testing - Visual, Visual with Borescope, and Ultrasonic Thickness) on process piping systems and ground based pressure vessels based on government inspection standards and criteria and must be able to independently document the results of those inspections. Must be able to read relevant technical drawings and specifications. Monitoring of radiography may be requested. The qualified candidate shall follow established safety policies and procedures and perform work in accordance with Amentum policies and procedures along with National and NASA codes and standards while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performance of all duties. U. S. Citizenship required. Valid Drivers License is required. Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering, mathematics or science, and four (4) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education/experience for a total of six (6) years is preferred.
