**Your Opportunity**
As a Mechanical Intern (Co-Op) with our multi-discipline Nashville, TN office, you will work with close guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the direction of a senior engineer. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include Revit designcomputer-aided design (CAD), calculations, and field work. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken mechanical engineering design type courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to develop industry experience with an opportunity for a full-time position upon graduation.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
* Participation in mechanical engineering and design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systemsprocess piping, pumps, and equipment general arrangements including calculations and layouts.
* Development of mechanical specifications and data sheets
* Production of BIM drawings using Revit.
* Performs field work (evaluation of existing sites) as directed and accompanied by senior engineer.
* Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
* Proficient in drafting with bBasic understanding of Revit CAD or other drafting software, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.
* Ability to participate, communicate, and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary project team setting.
* Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from senior engineers.
* Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite. Prefer experience with Revit.
* Strong motivation to learn.
**Education and Experience**
* Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for extended periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
