Provides moderately complex technical support to the mechanical engineering program in estimating, designing, preparing technical drawings, and developing prototypes. Tests mechanical materials, devices and products. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision.Position Summary:
As a mechanical engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic engineering environment. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to solve technical challenges, analyze data, and contribute to project planning and execution.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Conducting research and analysis to support engineering projectsAssisting in the creation of detailed engineering drawings and specificationsParticipating in design reviews and brainstorming sessionsConducting tests and experiments to evaluate the performance of mechanical systemsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are metCommunicating findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholdersContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization effortsRequirements:
The ideal candidate will be a current college student (Junior or Senior) pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. Previous internships or project experience in mechanical engineering is a plus. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop technical skills and industry knowledge in a real-world setting. internships are 10-12 weeks in length
A solid technical background through related coursework and work experience.Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and meticulous attention to detail.Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Vision, MS PowerPoint, CAD modeling, and drafting.Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning, machining, welding, and heat treatment.Reliable transportation, good attendance, and the ability to follow directions.Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Quick adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.A strong understanding of manufacturing principles and practices.Data analysis and interpretation skills.Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work dynamically.A commitment to safety standards and regulationsMust be able to complete an internship at our Harrison, Ohio location.
