Job objectives and responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the facilities and equipment. You will also be able to carry out minor repairs and improvements to the building fabric, such as painting, plastering, carpentry, etc.
Main duties
Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, Respond to requests and reports of faults or breakdowns from staff, clients, or contractors, and troubleshoot the issues in a timely and professional manner, Install new equipment and appliances, and assist in the setup of other systems, Conduct regular checks and tests of safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, emergency lighting, etc., and ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulation, Keep accurate up to date records of maintenance activities, inventory, and spare parts, and report any issues or recommendations to the supervisor or manager. Follow a maintenance schedule and prioritise tasks according to urgency and importance. Use and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment required for the role, and ensure they are in good working order and stored securely. Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff, contractors, and external specialists, and provide guidance and support when needed. Keep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of maintenance, and attend training courses as required · Update job records electronically to enable live reporting

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating (600/1122/1), City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating – gas, fire, water and central heating appliances (600/1134/8), City & Guilds – Level 3 Heating & Ventilating Installation (Industrial and Commercial) (100/3376/2), City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation (Domestic Installation) (100/3376/2), City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing) (Q1027228), City and Guilds – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating – Gas Fired Warm Air Appliances (600/1124/5, Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices, and ability to use them safely and effectively. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Strong L8 water regulation knowledge and experience. Problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to assess asset condition, report findings and solutions in a clear and concise way. Provide guidance to trainee plumbing engineers to support their development and skilled plumbing engineers tosupport the decision making process. Ability to raise, update and close jobs on PDA's as necessary. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, on-call, or during weekends and holidays as needed.
