Mechanical Engineer Intern, Construction Labor Reduction Analyst

This is a 10-week internship starting June 9 or 16 and is fully on-site at the listed office location.

Position Responsibilities

Process Analysis:Evaluate current installation processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.Conduct time-motion studies to understand how labor hours are being utilized.Data Collection and Reporting:Gather data on installation times, labor hours, and resource usage.Create detailed reports and presentations to highlight findings and suggest improvements.Workflow Optimization:Develop and implement streamlined workflows to reduce unnecessary steps.Propose automation solutions where applicable to minimize manual labor.Tool and Equipment Management:Assess the tools and equipment used during installations for efficiency.Recommend upgrades or changes to tools that can speed up the installation process.Training and Documentation:Assist in creating training materials and manuals to ensure all team members are following best practices.Document optimized processes and procedures for future reference.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with senior engineers and installation teams to understand challenges and gather feedback.Communicate proposed changes and improvements effectively to all stakeholders.Pilot Testing:Implement pilot tests for proposed changes to measure their impact on labor hours.Analyze results and refine processes based on feedback and data.Technology Integration:Explore and integrate new technologies that can aid in reducing labor hours, such as software tools for project management and scheduling.Stay updated on industry trends and innovations that can be applied to installation processes.Safety and Compliance:Ensure that all proposed changes comply with safety regulations and standards.Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with new processes.Continuous Improvement:Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating processes.Encourage team members to contribute ideas for reducing labor hours and improving efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently a student earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline.Must be graduating between May 2025 and August 2026.

Salary Statement with pay range
Bloom Energy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The total compensation for this position is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience.

For internships, the hourly rate offered is based on the position as well as the candidate’s degree, major, and year in school. The hourly pay range for this position $34.50 - $37.50.
