Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to perform site investigations, prepare calculations, drawings, and design specifications. The successful candidate will detail the layout and materials for all mechanical requirements/systems, including site utility requirements (natural gas, water, sewer, etc.) and building mechanical/plumbing requirements/systems. Additionally, you will design and prepare deliverable drawings for the mechanical systems and prepare the required calculations for systems. You will also prepare specifications, requisitions, and bid analysis/purchase orders for the materials covered on the drawings. Coordination and input with the architect, structural engineer, electrical engineer, and civil engineer to provide a fully coordinated design package is essential. Responsibilities + Perform site investigations. + Prepare calculations, drawings, and design specifications. + Detail the layout and materials for all mechanical requirements/systems, including site utility requirements (natural gas, water, sewer, etc.) and building mechanical/plumbing requirements/systems. + Design and prepare deliverable drawings for mechanical systems. + Prepare specifications, requisitions, and bid analysis/purchase orders for materials covered on the drawings. + Coordinate and provide input with the architect, structural engineer, electrical engineer, and civil engineer to provide a fully coordinated design package. + Perform constructability review of drawings. + Coordinate with consultants and contractors. + Review calculations, drawings, and specifications and provide meaningful comments. + Provide construction administration services. Essential Skills + BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited College or University. + EIT from the State of California. + 3-5 years of relevant experience. + Experience with Public Projects. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and Revit. + Experience in engineering, MEP design, construction engineering, architectural design, and construction drawings. + Plumbing design experience. + Experience in laboratory and hospital design, data centers and computer rooms design, and education facility design. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experienced in estimating. + Experience with on-site, field work. + Consulting experience with a mechanical engineering firm. + Ability to review calculations, drawings, and specifications and provide meaningful comments. + Business development skills. Work Environment This is a hybrid role with the possibility of remote work after 90 days for the right candidate who can get the work done. You will be part of a growing team in the Sacramento area, working on a variety of exciting and unique projects, including government buildings and high-profile projects such as those featured in Marvel movies.
