Mechanical Engineer Job Number: 352951 Category: Mechanical Engineering Description: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Jeffersontown, KY Zip Code: 40299 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $88k - $95k/salary DoE Keywords: #MechanicalEngineer #EngineeringJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products as well as product changes and enhancements within company's design standards and workflows. * Develop plans for and execute structural & mechanical testing for components on new and current designs. * Work with a multi-disciplined design team (mechanical/electrical engineers, production engineers, product development) to design, develop, simulate, and verify new components/designs. * Devises and conducts validation tests to ensure product quality. * Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes. * Ensures new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, & manufacturability. * Troubleshoots operational issues and devises short and long-term remedies. * Identifies & acts on opportunities for continuous improvement. * Travels to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * ​​Ability to design in 3D and have be creative (SolidWorks) * Experience within a weld/fabrication/industrial equipment. * Experience with calculations (Weld or Bearing) * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Needs to be outgoing. * MET/Hands on ME Role * FEA Analysis knowledge * Comfortable with assembly and would be ideal if candidates could jump on a lathe or mill * Technology / Testing experience * Capable of creating a test plan and test schedule * Experience with structural/fatigue testing processes and documentation (pre-test, testing, and post-test), such as test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews, and generating test reports. * Working knowledge of components (actuators, load cells, LVDTs, valves, sensors, power supplies) and hands-on skills a plus (tube fabrication, metalworking, wiring) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience with Vibration testing is a plus. * Exposure to design of automatic equipment. Experience with pneumatics is a plus. * 3D CAD (SolidWorks a plus), 2D CAD drafting. Experience with Matlab/Simulink a plus.
