Mechanical/Electrical Technician (Mechanic AA, E2)
The Mechanical/Electrical Technician ensures that all mechanical and electrical devices remain at a fully functional capacity. Trouble shoot, maintain and make all repairs necessary for the safe and efficient operations of a manufacturing facility. Know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements. Mechanic Job Requirements (Class AA) + Must be able to perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance task(s) assigned with general instruction and no supervision + Must be able to perform non-routine repairs and equipment rebuilds (>1 year intervals) with minimal instruction and supervision + Must have a thorough knowledge of the following: + Welding Materials and Methods (welding skill level is high) + Rigging - Inspection criteria, Capacities, Materials, Synthetic, Chains, Connections/Arrangements + Must have a general knowledge of the following: + Machining Equipment, Lathes, Milling + Must have a high level of troubleshooting method. + Must be able to diagnose mechanical issues within limited timeframe + Can design a plan of action to solve problem quickly. + Is able to perform temporary fix, "Band Aid" in order to get the machine back in production as quickly as possible. + Must have a high level of urgency when dealing with downtime issues Electrical Job Requirements (E2) + Must have a thorough understanding of facility specific drawings and circuits. + Must be capable of serve as shift electrician. + Must have a thorough knowledge of facility motor control system. + Must be capable of troubleshooting Motor Control Centers. + Must have a general knowledge of and troubleshooting skills for both A/C and Servo drives. + Must have a general knowledge of PLC logic and wiring scheme. + Must have general control knowledge of burners. + Must have advanced knowledge of single, double pole 120volts, 240 volts, and 3-phase 480 voltage circuits and be capable of troubleshooting them. + Must have a general knowledge of facility instrumentation. + Must have a thorough knowledge of Preventative Maintenance procedures on all facility equipment. + Must have a general knowledge of air conditioning equipment, be able to troubleshoot basic problem on A/C + Must be able to troubleshoot basic DC circuit on vehicles + Must be able to read and understand advanced electrical blueprint and symbols + Must be able to wire electrical components from one line diagram + Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment a plus + Mechanical / electrical certifications (Preferred) + Aptitude with mechanical drawings a plus + Experience in - motors - circuits and wiring - hydraulics - conveyor systems - machine lubrication - fabrication - welding - machining – millwright A subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, the world's largest building products company, CertainTeed- is North America's leading brand of exterior and interior building products, including roofing, siding, fence, decking, railing, trim, insulation, gypsum, and ceilings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the pay rate for the Mechanical/Electrical Technician position which is $36.96/hr starting (B Mechanic), with potential to earn up to $52.05/hr (Master Mechanic, E2). **The pay rate for the AA Mechanic, E2 position is $49.56/hr (In order to qualify for this position/pay rate, applicants must possess the minimum qualifications)** This is an hourly paid position included within the bargaining unit of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 30. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
