Mechanical Designer

If you are a SolidWorks Pro looking to work in an interesting and challenging industry, Emerson in Mansfield, MA could be the place for you! The drafter/designer will produce casting, machining and assembly drawings of company products and support various areas of the business with layouts and 3D models as required to manufacture product for the nuclear power industry.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Work with mechanical engineers to produce CAD drawings for product manufacturing and customer order processing. Maintain drawing revision control via the Document Change Order process. Work with manufacturing engineers to produce tools and fixturing in support of product manufacturing and quality testing. Support the supply chain with precise 3D models of castings and forgings for pattern makers at foundries. Ensure drawings meet current ASME Y14.5 – GD&T standard. Continually assess work conditions to identify/report potential safety vulnerabilities to support company safety initiatives.

You are a skilled Drafter/Designer who enjoys working as part of a team to produce quality work. You seek ways to improve processes, from small tweaks to complete reengineering. You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message. You follow through on commitments.
 
 For This Role, You Will Need: Associate’s degree or High School diploma/GED with 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry. A working history with SolidWorks PDM. Highly proficient in SolidWorks; able to model complex geometries using features like surfacing and lofting. Solid understanding of ASME Y14.5 – GD&T tolerancing standard. Knowledge of piping, pipe flanges and pipe fittings standards. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, like milling, turning, welding, etc. A good understanding of MS Office products.
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: A working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD Mechanical software. SolidWorks certification. #LI-Onsite #LI-LS4
