As Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed and precise designs for customized switchgear systems, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and customers. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR + Experience: 1–2 years in mechanical drafting and design (required).  High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred. + Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Inventor or SolidWorks is a plus. + Customer Focus: Strong commitment to accuracy and precision in all design work. Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and other departments. WHAT YOU’LL DO + Develop and refine layouts for mechanical designs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and manufacturing standards. + Create and edit detailed schematics and CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor. + Resolve design challenges and prepare solutions in collaboration with the engineering team. + Update and maintain bills of material as designs evolve, ensuring accuracy and clear communication with team members. + Forward final, checked drawings to engineers and provide updates on project progress.
