As a Mechanical Design Engineer II, you will support Honeywell Aerospace, Engines and Power Systems - Test Services to deliver innovative testing solutions that meet the evolving needs of our new products. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation Gas Turbine Engines, Electrical Power Generation, Hybrid Power Systems, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Mechanical actuators, valves, and heat exchangers for Aerospace by designing test facilities and equipment needed to test these products.

You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. You will interact with internal customers and external Engineers and Contractors in order to facilitate the completion of test equipment and facilities for product development and production testing. Be a future shaper. Primary work location is Phoenix, Arizona with occasional travel to other Honeywell Aerospace Test facilities (Tempe, Mexicali, Torrance), Suppliers, Contractors, or Customer sites for consulting.

Key Responsibilities

\n\nDesign, plan, and execute projects for test facilities and equipment.\nCreate test facility specifications, estimates, schedules, and CAD designs.\nSupport Health Safety & Environmental and OSHA standards\nEnsure test facilities comply with Industry Standards.\nPropose technical and process improvements.\nComplete facility drawings in AutoCAD or Siemens NX.\nPresent designs to leadership and customers.\nEstablish and follow Project Management methodologies.\nCoordinate with suppliers and contractors.\n\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.\n2+ years of industry experience with Mechanical Engineering, Facility Construction or Maintenance.\n\n

 

\n

 

\n

WE VALUE

\n\nWorking knowledge of OSHA safety and environmental standards.\nFamiliarity with applicable building codes and standards.\nWorking knowledge of compressed air generation and distribution, cooling towers and process water, vacuum, fuel distribution, electric motors, dynamometers, and industrial controls.\nExperienced in system layout, equipment sizing, selection and specifications.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, NX, and Microsoft Office software.\nKnowledge and experience with Teamcenter configuration management.\nAbility to collaborate and communicate with engineering teams, system owners, technicians, engineering consulting firms, suppliers, and contractors.\nAbility to make timely decisions with a sense of urgency to keep on schedule.\nCapability to follow procedures and guidelines to ensure efficiency on given project tasks.\nSelf-motivated and able to work with little supervision.\nProfessional Engineer license a plus.\nAdditional InformationJOB ID: HRD244700Category: EngineeringLocation: 111 S 34th St.,Phoenix,Arizona,85034,United StatesExemptDue to US export control laws, must be a US citizen, permanent resident or have protected status.Engineering (GLOBAL)
