JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for checking operations and installation/replacement and reading of gas meters.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and small power tools. Ability to communicate well with customers, city inspectors, police and fire department officials. Ability to obtain and maintain D.O.T. Office of Pipeline Safety operator qualification as it pertains to gas service work. Good interpersonal skills along with good written and oral communication skills. Ability to interpret construction drawings to locate underground facilities. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and dependable team player. Familiar with local plumbing code. Ability to cut and tread pipe. Knowledge of Entergy's “Click Mobile” application. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
Desired skills
Knowledge of Maximo. Knowledge of LA811 locate ticket process. Ability to recognize and embrace opportunities for process improvement. Ability to install meter sets Strong mechanical aptitude Good driving record Ability to work with a large diverse team Knowledge of gas distribution system Working knowledge of the AM/FM / GIS graphical program Knowledgeable in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Knowledge of Entergy's Customer Service policies; Familiar with service territory area.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be available for 24 hour call out and extended hours as necessary. Ability to lift 100 lbs.
