WBITVP UK is a leading creator and distributor of television content. The group produces long-running television brands in drama, factual, documentary, factual entertainment and history. To date, the group consists of Ricochet, Wall to Wall Media and Twenty Twenty Television.

Whilst employed by WBITVP UK Group, you will be part of an in house Post Production team that will work across Wall To Wall and Twenty Twenty Television group companies providing services and support to all our clients.

As MCR Supervisor you will take a lead role across the Edit Assistant team ensuring that offline and online post-production tasks run smoothly.  You will provide excellent client service at all times, both face to face and in written communication. You will have a very detailed knowledge of Post-Production workflows, including file based processes and ideally QC standards. In addition to this, you will provide advice to edit assistants on best practices and workflows.  An excellent knowledge of offline and online editing is essential.

As with any Media / Television company, at times you will work within a very fast paced environment which requires an individual to remain calm under pressure and prioritise when multiple tasks must be managed simultaneously.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with the Post-Production Operations Manager to supervise offline and online work through the MCR.

Attend start up meetings to help advise productions on workflows, camera choices and channel deliverables.

Project and edit suite setups – both on-site and remote HP Anyware and Z Central suites.

Assist with general upgrades and maintenance of equipment.

LTO and archive management.

Server storage management and reporting - including facility QNAP and Nexis.

Blackbird project and media management.

Training Edit assistants in processes specific to each production/workflow.

Keeping up to date and testing the latest technologies and software.

Work closely with Post-Production Operations Manager, Head of Post-Production Operations, Technical Manager, Post Supervisors and Engineers.

Filling in when required as main operational contact and monitoring freelance hire requirements.

Troubleshoot high-level, escalated technical issues.

Advise on and undertake tasks where necessary:

Grouping and syncing rushes.

Conforms, both HD and UHD (HDR and SDR) and picture check final cuts prior to an online.

Ensuring all edits are correctly setup and ready before use.

Consolidating/Transcoding of file and tape-based footage.

Labeling and managing tape and file-based material.

Export cuts for upload.

Creation of AAF files & MXF files.

Wrapping up of finished projects.

Ensure safe backup of tape-ess material and project data.

Key Skills

Have a strong working knowledge of Avid non-linear editing environment on shared storage (QNAP and Nexis) from offline to online to Pro-tools audio dubbing.

Have a strong track record of communicating with production personnel, both verbal and written.

Have a strong knowledge of different tape and file-based formats and workflows, including EVS.

Have an excellent knowledge of VT decks and formats such as HDCam SR, XDCam, Digibeta.

Have an excellent understanding of Avid offline & online editing, specifically with bin management and project organization.

Have an excellent understanding of final Post-Production processes including online, grading & audio, AQC (Vidcheck) & QC.

Ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines.

Be able to work well within a team environment.

Have experience of online scheduling tools, preferably Farmer's Wife.

Liaising with non-technical clients and advising on workflows.

Strong understanding of AS11 delivery.

Ad Hoc Duties

This role will be based primarily in the London office but you maybe asked by Management to work in other areas of WBTVIP UK, including Brighton to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Company.

Working Hours

Working hours are based on a 5 day week and a 7.5 hour day from 9:30am to 6pm with shift pattern work where necessary.

You may be required to work occasional weekends, additional hours and in other WBITVP UK offices if necessary.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
