Materials Specialist

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The responsibility of the Materials Specialist is to support production through receiving, maintaining production material stocking levels, performing inventory reviews, and staging material for production use. Advanced computer skills are essential for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A MATERIALS SPECIALIST:

Performs all daily tasks in the Shipping/Receiving department following JI procedures Operate a forklift for loading and unloading various types and sizes of equipment and material Counts, weighs and checks incoming material and supplies to verify completeness of shipments against purchase orders, pack slips, bills of lading, invoices and Receiving Inspection Requirements (RIR) and verify Shelf Life information. Record all transactions in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system  Visually inspect parts with acceptance limits clearly defined or reference samples furnished communicating with requestors and vendors for conformance Scans copies of receiving paperwork and purchase order into Docuware  Labels all materials received via approved JI identification tags, per JI process Properly organize and maintain warehouse to ensure all material is accessible and identified Monitors cleanliness and organization of warehouse and work space (5S) Ensures safe working practices are adhered to Works safely at all times Performs other duties as assigned Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job Initiates non-conformance report, places non-conformance report on material for MRB cage,  and works with QA for disposition Collects and processes work order documents to assemble material kitting orders, tracking, and costing Monitors compliance to policies and ensures best practices are adhered to Ensures safe working practices are adhered to Works with Purchasing on Return Merchandise Authorizations Acts as focal for all material movement through the Receiving department

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Advanced computer skills required.  SAP experience preferred. Some forklift experience is required; must be able to be trained and pass certification. Previous warehousing experience. Must possess basic math skills; must be able to work independently. A valid driver's license is required. Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wage range for this role is between $20 - $35 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
