Job Description Summary:

The Material Planner manages the raw materials, packaging, and miscellaneous items inventory levels, ensuring they comply with agreed stock policies while completing specific actions to level up or down to optimal levels when necessary. This role is responsible to plan and execute the ERP system signals into specific purchase orders to be received on time to meet the production long term and short-term plans. This role also manages inventory at risk and our supplier management relationships.

What You’ll Do for Us

Inventory Management:

Enforce and adjust inventory policies for raw materials, packaging, and production items, considering warehouse capacity and shelf-life.Procure ingredients, packaging, and items based on demand signals, maintain SAP item planning data, update forecasts in the ERP system, and run MRP.Schedule and communicate timing for ingredient lots, generate freight purchase orders, and update cleaning usage trends.Maintain regulatory documents and package testing certificates.

Materials Review Board and Non-Conforming Materials:

Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to minimize inventory losses by presenting at-risk inventory and initiating actions with stakeholders.Support the Non-Conforming Material Review (NCMR) process through rework or disposition solutions.

Supplier Management:

Partner with Strategic Ingredient Supply for continuous quality ingredient supply and provide forecasts for supplier contracts.Develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiate packaging material purchases, and source new suppliers.Improve ingredient quality and supplier performance, manage vendor returns, and resolve quality issues.Track and report supplier performance, ensuring regulatory paperwork for new suppliers or ingredients.

Special Analysis:

Review ingredient specifications for suitability, confirm received lots, and analyze orange oils levels.

Other Responsibilities:

Align with Flavor Manufacturing-Wexford on inventory levels and collaborate on continuous improvement projects.Ensure department training and documentation of processes for continuous improvement.Support integrated management systems through audits and the 5S program.Participate in daily communication centers and manage continuous improvement and nonconforming materials reports.

Qualification & Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.  Master's in Business Administration (MBA) and APICS certification a plus.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility in a similar supply chain role.Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems, and Excel.High attention to detail and understanding of complex manufacturing processes in procurement.Knowledge of supplier fulfillment capabilities to meet customer and internal requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and build relationships.Experience with food processing or pharmaceutical planning.Ability to make decisions based on analytical results and manage long and short-term planning.Experience interacting with senior managers (Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Legal).Quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience are a plus.

Pay Range:

$85,300 - $101,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
