Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Materials Manager . This position is based at our Roxboro, NC facility. Relocation benefits are available for this opportunity!
The Materials Manager is responsible for managing inventory to support plant operations by deploying lean material flow. Site owner for the SIOP process and responsible for meeting established DOH, OTD and Freight goals. Responsible for the administration of MRO purchasing function according to policies and practices determined by VGNA standards. Adheres strictly to accepted Accounting and Purchasing Principles, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements and guidelines.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

**Job responsibilities**
Major responsibilities of this position include maintaining target inventory levels, managing customer and supplier relationships and addressing inventory, purchasing and/or customer satisfaction issues. This includes ownership of plant scheduling, forecast accuracy, and profit plan input for sales levels. Proper MRP and ERP discipline is essential along with robust adherence to SIOP.
+ Develops and manages the inventory plan by part number through PFEP concept. Defines the appropriate level of raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods for each part, tracks performance to the plan and develops and implement actions to achieve plan.
+ Administer and drive improvement in purchasing function/process to follow corporate, divisional, and local purchasing practices & procedures. Develop, lead and/or communicate organizational plans, Materials Management policies, quality system procedures, EHS procedures and other related procedures to ensure plant compliance.
+ Owner of the plant’s SIOP process and ensure all parties participate (sales, operations, suppliers, finance) as required. Generates forecasts for: sales by customer, production build by product, and inventory along with production requirements from the process. Tracks accuracy to the SIOP plan.
+ Manage the necessary information for developing a Master Production Schedule to supply customer demand while maintaining target inventory levels and meeting OTD goals for both internal and external customers and overall freight targets (including premium freight).
+ Develop a comprehensive understanding of the MRP system and ensure controls are in place to establish the correct coding of parts (part set-ups), flow of material (BOM and routing) to allow for uninterrupted supply of material both internally and externally.
+ Ensure the cycle counting process is fully deployed and that action plans are developed, and root causes of issues are resolved to achieve acceptable inventory accuracy (98+%).
+ Maintain good working relationships with customers. This function is the direct communication link with customers in the areas of shipping, packaging, scheduling, and other special requests.
+ Manages and develops four direct reports. Deploys inventory management strategy within the department, with a focus on building organizational capability and developing talent.
+ Research vendors & purchasing strategies to continually negotiate the best product at the overall best landed cost and minimize the vendor base while supporting corporate and divisional initiatives. Goal being increased vendor participation, dedication, interaction and control
**Qualifications:**
Required Basic Qualifications:
+ Minimum Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
+ Minimum five (5) years experience in Materials, Operations and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
+ Relocation is available within the United States. Candidates within a 50-mile radius of Roxboro, NC will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineer and/or Business
+ ERP knowledge (preferably Oracle)
+ APICS CPIM certification
+ One (1) year experience being a Leader of People
**Skills**
+ In depth knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and value streams from raw materials to finished product
+ Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring and scheduling execution
+ Experience in supporting cross functional SIOP and inventory management processes
