Role Summary

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Responsible for the movement and storage of production parts within the plant; and ensures production line has the correct parts for production in a timely manner.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Moves parts on the plant floor and in the shipping/receiving area through the operation of a forklift truck.

Supplies parts to assembly stations and sequencing lanes in a timely manner.

Loads and unloads parts from trucks.

Maintains stock in an organized fashion (FIFO).

Assists with monthly physical inventories and daily cycle counts.

Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.

Works in a manner that promotes teamwork among fellow employees.

Completes all paperwork associated with the job assignment in an accurate and timely manner.

Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.

Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.

Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to your Supervisor.

with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Additional Information

Education/Certification/Licensure:   Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PRODUCTION TEAM ASSOCIATE – FORKLIFT TRUCK DRIVER

 

 

Experience:   None

                                                                                                                               

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Good written and verbal communication skills.  Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.  Detailed oriented and good documentation skills.  Ability to work independently under general supervision.  Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklift truck).

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES: 

Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposed to varying temperature within plant depending upon external weather condition.  Continuously sits and operates a forklift truck.  Frequently grips/grasps, bends/stoops, crouches, and lifts and carries up to thirty (30) lbs.  Occasionally climbs on and off the forklift truck.  Must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays.
