ABOUT THE POSITION

The Material Planning & Inventory Lead oversees the planning and inventory of raw materials and finished goods for assigned facilities. In this position, the Lead will manage a team of material planning, storeroom, and shipping & receiving personnel, providing training, guidance, and assistance, as well as serving as a subject matter expert for Supply Chain Management. The Lead will also function as a Material Planner, planning material flow for assigned chemistries and products to meet production needs and satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Responsibilities Provides leadership to direct reports through effective on the job training, guidance, and coaching. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Direct reports may include Material Planners, Storeroom/Inventory Clerks, Shipping & Receiving Clerks.Directs tasks within the assigned group, enforcing company policies and procedures, to successfully align the team with company goals.Develops and/or contributes to the development of written work instructions, documentation, and policies for inventory control, shipping & receiving, and material planning processes.Interfaces with external sources (customers, suppliers, auditors, etc.), acting as a subject matter expert for Supply Chain Management.Ensures products are stocked correctly and inventory levels are accurate by monitoring the completion of inventory cycle counts and other similar inventory management tasks throughout the year.Analyzes data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs to support lean manufacturing activities.Plans and maintains the material requirements for certain product lines, as assigned, collaborating with other functional groups (Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Program Management, etc.) to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment levels.Ensures Bill of Material for assigned products are maintained in an accurate manner through close coordination with Engineering.Maintains tools to effectively and efficiently keep inventory levels at a minimum (RM, WIP, FG)Prepares progress reports and updates for management, as requested.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Be a U.S. PersonsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline preferredAt least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferredPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience in a manufacturing setting in related Supply Chain Management role, preferredStrong computer skills and familiar with basic MRP system functionsProficiency MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsProven ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze dataUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma desired

Certification witin ISM or SPICS preferred
