Material Handler - Warehouse

Summary Duties include providing production with all OP material needed to run a full day’s production based off the production schedule set by the manufacturing leaders. Material handler assigned to WH pulls specific OP material and quantities to specific production pools and production orders. Presents completed materials box to the staging area for audit, fulfills any work fills, BOM changes, or Shortages for any their work. Material Handler assigned to a specific plant will work with material coordinators to run hot parts for material needed to fulfill production material shortages, including BOM changes, work fills for Op boxes staged at the plant or in process, and shortages. Performs other warehouse duties to support success of perpetual inventory, 5S and all safety policies by following established operating procedures. This is an outdoor position, there will be exposure to all elements. Essential Functions Picks and scans all material to fulfill a day’s production or runs hot parts for material shortages on the production line. Delivers completed part box or hot parts to a staging area or to the plant. Reports inventory issues to your Leader Participates in returning extra parts to proper location in warehouse Properly identify and locate all parts according to established procedures. Meet Division metric requirements Participates in morning meeting/Safety Huddle Complete equipment maintenance checklist. Competencies Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English). Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, delivery receipts, prints, and measurements. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must have the ability to operate a forklift. Must be highly organized. Must possess successful problem solving skills. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations. Must be able to deal with climate extremes (temperature, precipitation, etc. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.Must be able to read and understand daily schedules. Responsible for the forklift housekeeping and daily forklift inspection. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors. Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical Demands While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the employee is regularly standing walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The employee will work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. In addition, the employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided. Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory. Travel There is no travel required for this position. Required Education and Experience High school degree or GED (not necessary). Basic computer knowledge. LCI Forklift License Required (Offered once hired). Preferred Education and Experience 1-3 months related work experience and/or training. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.None.Must be able to pass EVerify.
