Position Overview:

Under minimal supervision, the Material Handler II is responsible for the movement of material throughout the production facility while adhering to all company policies and operational processes and procedures. Reports to Warehouse Supervisor.

First Shift: 6:30am – 3:00pm

What your day-to-day will look like:

The Material Handler II will pull, prepare and stage job materials in assigned manufacturing work cells or staging areas to include material presentation load and unload material onto transports and trucks as well as assist with rigging of material on the manufacturing floor and on truck with the use of pallet jacks, forklift, or other equipment. The Material Handler II will also remove and dispose of packing, scrap, material, skids and cardboard, etc., in the manufacturing area, storeroom and receiving area as necessary. 

Inventory Control Focus

Effectively communicate with Supervisor and peersPull and issue parts for shop order kitsDistribute shop orders to floor upon completionMaintain all empty bins by refilling from overstockUpdate overflow location counts in spreadsheetsUpdate material location in spreadsheets for parts

Shipping Focus

Pull all material for shipping kits for shop ordersOrdering of all work cell suppliesPrint labels for bags and boxes for materialsCommunicate with Supervisor and peers for departing shipmentsShip all material for customer orders, Repaired Materials (RMAs), and other miscellaneous shipmentsMust write all Serial Numbers(S/Ns) for products and give to Customer Service for generation of Pack slipPlace UPS/FedEx shipments next to garage door for pick-upPlace orders for all shipping material suppliesWork directly with Quality before any shipments leave the dock (All packing slips MUST be verified by Quality prior to the truck being called)Schedule all trucks to pick up shipmentsOrdering of all work cell and packing supplies

Receiving Focus

Sign in and receive all materials before the end of the day then take to the correct place in the stockroomCheck all materials for correct and matching part numbersClearly identify all materials with labels before putting in stockroomEffectively communicate with Quality inspection on all material statusPlace all non-conforming materials on Red Tagged shelvesFill shortages for shop floor ordersRun reports for allocation of shortages and give to Team leadersSign for all material entering the building including RMAs (Notify RMA department)Perform housekeeping and 5S activitiesAdhere to all Siemens safety and work practices by keeping work area orderly at all timesEnsure work area is accessible and safe for internal employees and customer trafficInspect for damage and comparing inbound/outbound shipment to packing list and bill of lading to ascertain that quantities, destination and processing are correctIdentify and communicate any discrepancies or questionable conditions related to the task at handAssist with cycle counts and navigating the MRP systemMaintain Heijunka board on current counts dailyPerform cycle counts as requiredProcess basic non-inventory purchase order receiptsShow competency in the use of the MRP systemUse Kanban methodology to help team work together more efficientlyWork overtime as requiredFrequent lifting of 10-35 poundsKnowledge of all duties will be cross functional but specific duties may be assigned
