Summary:

In conjunction with department leadership, the material handler III position will support the daily workflow of the materials department by supporting level I and II material handlers and carrying out the essential duties of a material handler. In addition, this role will maintain responsibility for supporting internal and external customers through accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials.

Essential Duties:

Efficiently locate and pull materials/supplies as listed on production/sales order and stock assigned areas to maintain inventory levels for productionAbility to accurately verify parts and quantities and complete BOL’s to receive and/or ship materialOperate all material handling equipment (stand-up, sit-down, combi, lancer, tugger) in assigned operations facilityMaintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 5S standardsUse best practices to follow all safe procedures in operation of various material support equipmentUtilize computer equipment to interact with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to record inventory transactions as they are completedWorks closely with department leadership to ensure materials are moved timelyResponsible for working on assigned projectsAssist in the introduction and training of new and existing team membersSupport the implementation of continuous improvement within the departmentOther duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to become forklift certified3+ years of applicable position experienceFundamental computer, math, and reading skillsAbility to multi-task and adapt to an ever-changing environment and processesMust be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordinglyAbility to communicate with leadership and fellow team members in both written and verbal forms at a level above standardExperience using warehouse technology or electronicsAbility to effectively lead, coach, inspire, develop, and motivate teamsProvide guidance and support to peers

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in automotive manufacturingPrevious experienceHigh School Diploma/GED or certification program in equivalent fieldPrevious leadership experience
