How will you make an impact?
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the packaging department has the materials and commodities needed to produce the required batches scheduled daily. You will be responsible for staging commodities and materials for packaging, and moving finished product into and out of airlocks and through warehouse areas. You will also be a part of maintaining inventory accuracy and performing systematic transactions so that the packaging of future batches can be planned accurately.
What will you do?
Moving batches and associated materials to accurate staging areas.
Placing bulk material for packaging in corresponding airlock and warehouse areas.
Removing used commodities, materials, empty hoppers and drums from airlocks and warehouse areas.
Maintaining flow of product and material to keep hallways clear.
Maintains accurate, neat, error free records such as LPR and logbook entries.
Follows SOP's and GMPs at all times .
Monitors operations for deviations or quality problems.
Maintains neat work area and follows department safety rules.
Identifies safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
Operates fork truck and re-palletizing machinery.
Performs duties in other work areas as required including operation of packaging production lines and label control center.
Keeps all airlocks clear during the shift.
Actively participates in PPI (Practical Process Improvements), Lean and Continuous Improvement activities including 5S activities.
Works and communicates well with a diverse group of associates.
How will you get here?
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrates a mechanical proficiency.
Able to handle and maneuver totes and pallets weighing up to 350 Kg on a fork truck and lift containers up to 22 Kg by hand.
Job may require wearing personal protective equipment including Tyvek coveralls and various styles of respirators.
Fork truck license preferred, but not required.
Ability to learn fork truck operation.
