SUMMARY Under direct supervision, the Material Handler operates a powered forklift to move, stack, load, or unload materials in and about the plant, warehouse, staging area, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Using a forklift or pallet jack, moves work order kits and other materials needed to perform work. + Using a forklift, moves, stacks, loads, and unloads materials within and between the plants and receiving docks. + Attaches identifying tags to containers, or marks them with identifying information according to company procedures. + Reads packing slips or bills of lading, or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. + Sorts shipments before loading and unloading. + Assembles product containers and crates. + Packs containers and re-packs damaged containers. + Performs basic functions on the ERP computer system (clocking in and out, work order maintenance) + Keeps work areas neat and clean according to company standards. + Works safely and follows all company rules and procedures. Position Requirements + MUST have Forklift experience. Must be willing to take forklift test prior to employment. + High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Functional working knowledge of general hand tools. + Valid driver’s license in order to obtain Powered Industrial Truck license issued by Company. + Ability to work in fast paced environment: prioritize between production and material needs + Proficient in basic computer applications: e.g., email, Word, Excel, internet searches + Quick learner with ability to multitask + Detail oriented with strong organizational skills + Previous inventory experience preferred, BUT willing to train these skills to an internal person who possess the other skills and experience listed + Able to be flexible with work schedule when customer demands require it.
